Mulled Wine Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 4 tbsp rum 60 mls
  • 1/2 cup Earl Grey Tea (brewed, not the leaves!) 120mls
  • 1 orange, quartered, each quarter stuck with 1 clove
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 star anise
  • 2 tbsp dark brown sugar

Instructions

HOW TO MAKE MULLED WINE ON THE STOVE

  1. Put the red wine, rum, brewed earl grey tea, orange quarters stuck with cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise and dark brown sugar into a pan on the stove and warm until steaming hot but not boiling.

  2. Right before it boils turn it down to the lowest heat.

  3. Serve warm into heat proof glasses.

HOW TO MAKE MULLED WINE IN A CROCK POT

  1. Put the red wine, rum, brewed earl grey tea, orange quarters stuck with cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise and dark brown sugar into your slow cooker.

  2. Cook on low until fully warmed through which will take about 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on your model of slow cooker.
